Fire Engine Restoration

1921 American LaFrance Restoration

This is the 1921 American LaFrance that was purchased in 2022 by the Museum. It was one of the original six motorized fire engines to serve the City of Albany Fire Department.

The engine needs work to bring it back to the condition on delivery in 1921. A committee headed by Howard Schmitt Jr., son of the Late Battalion Chief Howard R. Schmitt has already begun work on preservation and restoration.
